  • Hi,
I am a beginner for this software.
Can anybody send me a detailed user friendly manual how to use this software for drawing circuits?
Maybe sent by PDF form to save huge file transmission.
I want to get started with this software but I dont know how to start or begin with.
    Thanks and my best regards.
  • Have a look at the "Files" area on this site.
Scroll down towards the bottom of the list and there you will find a
number of documentation entries that you can download.

  • Edgardod,
    1. Make sure you download version 2.70; 2.6x has many problems.
2 To get 2.70, click on SourceForge, NOT download.
    3. Install and start-up the program.
    4. On the left window, click on the libraries you wish to be seen.
    5. Find your device and double-click on it, and drag it to the main
?????? window and click on it where you want it placed.
    6. If you only want one copy, then press to remove the
???? device from placing another copy on the main screen..
    7. Get used too pressing , it will be your best friend.
    8. To use text, click on the "A", type in what you want and
?????? drag it to the position you want placed
  • I took a look at the designspark PCB program, and at first impression I
think it is less user-frienddly than TinyCAD or FreePCB. The library
    structure seems much more cryptic.

  • For other libraries try 'Files > Libraries ' on the Yahoo group. There are quite a few there of varying usefulness.
You have to register to get access.
The ones which come with the TinyCAD install package are not too great.
Once you have a bit of confidence you will probably create and use only your own symbols. Other people's are not always right for you.

The 'Help' file accessed from the TinyCAD menu bar gives info on most things. Unfortunately some of the pictures were missed from the v2.70.00 so the version which came with v2.60.01 is better for many things. You can get it in 'TinyCAD-2.60.00-docs.zip' on the sourceforge/TinyCAD site.

Also look at 'Edit or Add Symbols.txt' and 'TC_NewLibSym.zip' in 'Files > How To Files'

  • I have just completed my first schematic and a question arises:
    1. Is there a complete schematic out there That I can down load on adobe
    to view a working schematic.
    2. My problem as used to Cadsoft-Eagle Whed I hit the design Rule check for my schematic a number of problem are aparent but I don't know exatcly what I am looking at. I need this schematic a Guarentee for spice and freePCB and GerberViewer. tanks. I am very new to electronics
computers and computer programs in general.
  • I have a schemativ done and most of the DRC problems have disappeared althou:
    1. How to set up for proper placement of library parts useing the routeing system as directed for automatic junction placement. I had numerous problems connecting the wire to a part. How do I configure all of the settings or insure the settings are right from a recent download of the problem.
    2. Two parts will not hook up: they are two semiconductors transistors and diodes. The dsr says the output is connected together wrong the have the same legs. Do the outputs have to be labeled or what. tanks
  • I was using the program made a couple of drawings then closed the program. When I opened the program again there were no symbols and the symbol library was empty? Please inform rdb45594@...
  • Simplest possibility is that there is some text in the 'Filter:' text box.
If it doesn't match anything the symbol list will be empty.
Otherwise open the 'Libraries..' button and see if there are any libraries listed as 'in use'.
If that fails we will need more info:
OS, TinyCad version, location of install, location of library files etc.
If you saved your original drawings can you reload them?

  • Hello everyone. The new stable version (3.0) is now out. The new TinyCAD now runs fine in Linux. I'm using Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS. Also, ViewMate now runs. Just make sure the config emulated Winsows Vista or later. I had a problem getting ViewMate to install. It came up with the error "cannot run under Windows XP. Go to the terminal and type "'winecfg" and make sure it is running under Vista or later. All for now.

  • Rick: Open the terminal and do the following:

    sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
    wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key
    sudo apt-key add Release.key
    sudo apt-add-repository https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable

  • Hi Don

Thanks for that - I don't even know if it was intended for me.
In any case, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
I see the word "ubuntu" and there is nothing of that on my machine.

  • It looks like some of the info got cut out of what I originally sent. I'm referring to WINE. It runs under several versions of Linux, and it allows you to run may (but not all) Windows programs under Linux. TinyCAD is on e of them. If your original messaage reeferred to something else.

  • You posted that TinyCAD v 3.0 was available. I posted that it isn't. The latest version at the TinyCAD site is version 2.9.something.

  • Some of my posting must have gotten wiped out then. My posting was concerning WINE version 3.0 not TinyCAD.
